Hello world!

v. 2022

Have a new home here on proton servers and looking forward to building my 30 year anniversary, very simple, minimalist site.

That’s right, I’ve had a kelzone website for almost 30 years. Here is the earliest one that I found on the WayBack archive site, it’s a KELZONE site dedicated to Virtual Reality from 1999. I hope that this will be my forever home, but – you know how life goes.

This blog isn’t focusing on just one topic as I’ve done in the past (technology, virtual reality, motorsports, gaming, Secondlife and online broadcasting, real estate, coding, writing, and who remembers what else), this one will mainly focus on Music, Writing, and Technology.

All posts will be on the home page but then the ones about M,W, & T will be sorted into those pages. Somehow they almost always tie together.

I want to give a shoutout to an old friend, S. Manganello, who I worked with in the early 90s. He was a larger than life, very funny man and a huge flirt. Most people who don’t call me by my family nickname, Kym, call me Kels but he was the one who started calling me Kelzone – after calzones, cuz I was “good enough to eat”. So, I owe him.

Speaking of names….

Since the beginning I’ve used the same handle on the internet and the WWW. I didn’t want the hassle of always finding my name taken and coming up with something else so I took my first name, Kelley, and mixed up the letters to come up with Kyllei. It’s only been in the last year or two that I’ve seen anyone else using that login name. When you come across it, it’s me 99.9% of the time and has been since the mid-90s. I pronounce it Kelley but others usually say it as Kai-leigh. I’ll take it either way.

This site will undergo changes over time, no doubt. At this time, a new logo is in the works.

There’s one more reason I am pulling everything together in this site. I have this old voicemail from my mom. Sometimes it makes me feel good to hear it. I can’t help but wonder if this might serve that purpose for my son some day when I’m not around anymore. It’s just a thought.

Stay Tuned.
