An Exorcising Exercise

You were the first one to say lawyers were parasites on the faults of society; I was quoting you.
I didn’t even write the obituary; Mom did.
Screaming at me the day my father died; how fucking dare you.
I was your advocate; when anyone had shit to say about you, I always defended you.
From the beginning you left me in the dark; you never wanted me there, you wanted the money.
I upended my life for us and our children; what we could have done together, now look where you are.
Your drug problem rocked my world; you attacking me when I was trying to help was the beginning of the end.
Were you really trying to make things right; how’s that supposed to work while you’re hurling insults?
I miss you; your drama, not at all.
It is heartbreaking to see what has happened between you two; this is all on you.
Blaming everyone but yourself; the lack of self and situational awareness is astonishing.
What an absolute failure as a father; what you have lost is staggering.
